But cute cat pictures may do it for YOU, so I won’t judge…

You know, keeping up a cheery disposition is exhausting work. Sometimes it’s just not that easy to get yourself into a happy frame of mind, no matter how many inspiring quotes are on our Facebook news feeds. (Sorry, pictures of cute cats are not going to cut it, either.)
Maybe you’ve had an argument with someone, or your boss is stressing you out, or your significant other is acting like a jackass…or you’re simply just having a disappointing day.
So, what does it take to feel better? Can dancing really chase the blues away?
Ok, some people may consider it a quick fix and not the answer to life’s problems, but move your body a little and somehow things seem to feel a bit better. Pair that up with some great tunes and we may just have a recipe for healing the heavy heart.
So what do you have to lose? You can either sit at home all miserable, eating Cheetos and watching Snookie flash her cooka on Jersey Shore (well, that show can actually make anyone feel better about themselves, but that’s another story) or you can go out and dance some love back into your heart.
LOVE!!!!! Dancing definitely cures my blues, EVERYTIME!! great music, great dances, amazing friends make it all better :)

it's amazing how you forget your problems while dancing. Even the next day feel way better because of dancing
ReplyDeleteYes, dancing has helped me get through some tough times...
DeleteDancing at dovercourt actually upsets me sometimes. This is my TRUE confession. The guys are dancing with their egos out, and the ladies dancing only with those guys, overlooking everyone else. I've spoken to friends who came here from Cyprus, Taiwan, Australia, England, and THEY say that the ego of both the men and the women (a select few that damper the environment) is ridiculous.
DeleteThe crowd is generally good, but some people need to stop being so arrogant and disrespectful to the people around them. We are all here for a good time.
Arrogance is killing the Toronto salsa scene. Basic social etiquette: If 2 people are talking and you want to say hi, say hi to both of them, don't just ignore one. A simple acknowledgment would suffice. Let's start with that.
Or sometimes people avoid looking at you and pretend they don't know you. What's up with that? Just nod your head for god's sake
DeleteOr if these two whiners didn't show all would be good :)
DeleteDancing is a great way to improve the mood.
I agree with the first 2 guys. No need for people being so condescending. Love and peace! A simple hi makes a difference.
DeletePeople on the chairs at the front from 'the schools' take note. (This isn't highschool) And to the girls who hide IN the DJ booth, why do you come to the social if you are going to hide? Oh the logic...
ReplyDeleteLinda I will dance with you any day of the week! RAWR!!
I second what the previous poster said about the people on the chairs at the front from 'the schools', they don't need to be so elite/condescending and you're right even though quite a few of them are in their late 20's early/late 30's in their body, they sure have not left the high school attitude in their mind..Which is why you all should try Zouk because the scene is so new and the people there are so nice, no big egos prancing about proud as peacocks, just chill people who love to dance to zouk and chill out and laugh and have a good time..Don't believe me? Check out the Zouk social on Tuesdays at the Dance Annex that is run by Mazouka Dance. Everyone there are friendly and chill. (LOL, yes this post is a plug for zouk) Love your articles Linda, keep it up, sexy lady! :)
ReplyDeletethanks!! see you tonight at the zouk social :)
